Clinton Kelly, the co-host of TLC’s What Not to Wear, is coming to Calgary on Saturday, June 18, 2022 for Styling your Life. He’ll be sharing fashion advice stories and more. Show off your style on the red carpet and stop by the photobooth for our Downtown Style Icon search.
If you want to get started with cocktails and canapes, HOME Tasting Room is hosting a pre-show event and tickets are available at their website.
It should be great, but the real question is … What should I wear? I know I can’t be the only one thinking that so let’s help each other out.
To get everyone started, I have 2 VIP tickets for a lucky blog reader! Just tell me in the comments what you’d wear to walk the red carpet at Styling your Life to enter for a chance to win.
Want a bonus entry? Tweet the message below.
I just entered to win 2 tickets to Styling your Life with @clinton_kelly on Sat. June 18 from the @downtowncalgary blog http://ow.ly/5hK3C
I’ll announce the winner after our draw on Friday at noon. Good luck everyone!
Also, if you’d like the chance to have a private styling session with Clinton Kelly there’s an auction that benefits the Canadian Women’s Foundation running now until Thursday, June 16 at 9:00pm.
UPDATE: I also have two pairs of regular tickets to give away in the draw, so make sure to comment by tomorrow at noon.

I’d wear the fabulously cute dress I saw in the window at Art Central today.
Ground up: Glitter Jimmy Choos, black jersey pencil skirt, white flowy blouse. Oh so Chanel.
What I would wear depends on the weather. If it was sunny a bright print maxi dress with amazing jewelry. If it was raining wide leg dark wash jeans with incredibly high wedge heels and a fitted shirt, again with amazing jewelry.
I would wear my fav Club Monaco pleated dress. It gives a 60′s feel with it’s over the knees and pleated-ness. =)
Red patent heels, black skinny Jbrand trousers, detailed white blouse, animal print clutch, and a black bomber jacket. The look not be complete without vintage jewelry. Trendy but classy.
I have zero sense of style- so I would have to let my boyfriend pick out my clothes, so as not to embarass myself! Most likely- Vera Moda dress with some Arnold Churgin wedge sandals
I would wear my fab brown dress with a cute belt to highlight my waist (Clint’s #1 tip) and my awesome floral pumps with lilac and lime green accents…
I’d wear the cute dress I bought at a little shop in Kelowna last month and my black strappy sandals. I love that dress to bits!
Also, tweeting! (@deidra23)
I don’t know what to wear, that’s why I hope to win tickets!
Definitely my new pair of snake skin pumps along with my dark green body fitting knee-length dress. Classy but shows of my curves! Add some accessories and good to go!!
I’d wear my nude patent leather platform pumps, baggy silk trousers in grey with a beige loose sheer jersey tank tucked in and faboulous accessories… Boyfriend cut blazer too, in case it gets chilly! Hair would be in a messy bun, and make up light and feminine….
ahhhh pick me, pick me!
I would wear this fantastic ivory crocheted mini-dress I bought on Queen’s Street (very) west in this funky little dress boutique! And Marc by Marc Jacobs sandals I bought from David’s on Bloor Street (I absolutely LOVE them!!).
Hmm, I’d have to find something non mom-ish No yoga pants or jeans for Mr Kelly! I think there’s still a cute LBD in my closet. I’d wear that with some coloured shoes.
I’d have to raid my oh-so-stylish sister’s closet so that I could attend & get some fabulous tips! I’m too afraid of fashion to buy clothes on my own
black banana republic dress, with a wide cream belt, naughty monkey heels in the same colour, and green bag with my tiffany necklace I got for graduation! I’ve been thinking about this for a while. I would love to go! my mom and I have been watching him for years.
I won a fancy dress of my choice in a recent Sears contest. I picked a beautiful black dress: it’s the Jessica®/MD Micro Chiffon Sleeveless Multi Tiered Dress on their webpage. It will be the perfect red carpet dress with a pair of sparkly earrings and black satin pumps!
Good luck to all!
My last check of the weekend weather showed sun for Saturday! So I will be wearing a bright, solid colour dress and my accessories will make my outfit. Clinton always says to make an outfit interesting include colour, pattern, texture and shine. The color will come from the dress and heels, the pattern will come from the heels, the texture will come from the dress, jewerly, and heels and the shine will come from the jewerly. And as Clinton and Stacy always say “It doesn’t have to match, its has to go”. So, I will not be matchy, matchy. My outfit might not sound that exciting by how I described it but I can assure you that it looks “Freakin’ Fabulous” in my head!!
I would wear my new one piece JOE FRESH black jumper as its the only thing I have post pregnancy that makes me feel semi normal and human with the extra weight AND its affordable for the transition… with PRADA wedges of course. The shoes have never failed me
The reason I need to win these tickets is that I have NOTHING to wear if I meet Clinton. My “teacher” shoes, capris and top with horizontal stripes will all be a screaming advertisement for what “NOT” to wear!
I’d probably wear a colourful dress from Esprit.
I tweeted this contest as well
I will wear my Mother’s 100% poly wild print moomoo dress that is almost “in” again. I am a formerly hip woman at home with two kids. I need Clinton, pahlease!
LBD with nude heels to make my legs look like they go on for miles and a gorgeous long necklace
Top to bottom:
1. Vivienne Westwood shirt
2. Paul Smith tie
3. VBlak higher shoulder blazer (Korean designer)
4. Detachment pants
5. Raf Simons shoes
Nude Nine West pumps, straight leg dark wash Cookie Johnson jeans, plain grey long sleeve shirt and a Rachel Roy fur vest!
My 20′s inspired little black dress!!
I just lost a bunch of weight and bought a new dress to celebrate, so I’d TOTALLY be rocking it! It’s a nice wraparound with a bold brown and turquoise floral print.
I heart Clinton!
I’d have to go out and buy a wrap dress that floats away from the body as it falls below the knee. An empire waist would be lovely. Structured jacket over top that defines the waist. A simple clutch in a colour that pops and high heel strappy sandals.
I would dress head to toe in Calgary fashion to show Clinton Kelly what we have here.
High gladiator sandals with jeans and a funky shirt. I think. I change my mind every 30 seconds.
i would love the chance to take my wife so she can learn better ways to dress for her position
I would wear my favorite purple Missoni dress with my fabulous Miu Miu shoes.
I like some of the new Joe Fresh outfits, so I might wear something like that.
I would wear my jeans and t-shirt. The uniform of a stay at home mom.
The perfect little black dress with rocking shoes. I had a baby 8 weeks ago, so black is forgiving!
