The world’s largest simultaneous flash-mob is taking place this weekend, and it promises to be a big one. At last count, Calgary was in the Top 3 of participants planning on attending. Taking place in Calgary between the Barley Mill restaurant and the YMCA, the event hopes to gather as many people as humanly possible and get them all to do the ‘Carlton Dance’ as made popular by the hit 90s sitcom ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’.
The dance starts at 1 pm Mountain time, so organizers are hoping to amass a crowd about 15 minutes in advance to get everyone ready. With beautiful weather expected for Saturday, there is a great reason to get downtown and participate. Enjoying the sun, getting a little exercise, and participating in something that could break a world record sounds like a good way to spend a Saturday.
For those worried about parking, rates are heavily reduced on Saturdays at most lots, and the area is a short walk from the C-train line.
