Just on the heels of the Calgary 2012 official kick off party featuring the Stampeders singing the Cultural Capital theme song “Sweet City Woman,” Mayor Nenshi is about to become – you guessed it – our “Sweet City Man.”
On Saturday, May 19th from noon-4:00pm our dear mayor will be immortalized in a giant gumball portrait at MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art), which will be approximately 6 feet x 6 feet and hold over 12,000 gumballs,
Children and families are invited to help create this unusual and interactive piece, which is part of The Calgary International Children’s Festival, with direction from Franz Spohn, the celebrated children’s book illustrator, artist, teacher, and star of the art education PBS TV series “Eureka! The Creative Art Series.”
If you miss the opportunity to participate, you will still be able to catch this unique portrait on display between Tues, May 22 - Sat, May 26, 2012.
