Calgary is one of the world’s cleanest cities. That’s not just my opinion, but it has been categorically proven by reputable magazines! One of the things that makes us so clean is our inherit pride for our city and surroundings. We top the charts in civic pride and it shows in the cleanliness of our city (which is a prize in itself).
We all like to think of our community as clean, but if we look around we start to see little bits of litter, or areas that just haven’t gotten the attention they deserve. 20 Minute Makeover is our chance to change that!
On June 6-10th, the City of Calgary, Downtown Calgary and GLAD have come together to present Calgary’s 20 Minute Makeover. The program is aimed at getting all Calgarians to take 20 minutes to clean up their surroundings, be it school, work, home or play. Calgary is clean from north to south, east to west, and we hope you take some time to make your corner of Calgary its cleanest.
So on June 6th, do your part! Stop by our Facebook event, and help us get the word out.
Inspire your co-workers to help tidy up the parking lot at work, get some neighbours together to clean-up a park in your area, convince your friends to pick up litter around your favourite hangout. Every little bit helps Calgary continue its reputation as one of the world’s cleanest cities.
