On a snowy March night, I attended the Holt Renfrew Spring Trends Presentation hosted by Lisa Tant, former editor of FLARE magazine. While it was tricky to imagine ourselves in spring’s bright colours, prints and peep-toe shoes, it was an inspiring evening of discovering exactly what is coming for us in the coming warmer months.
And now the trends…
Modern Geometry
Modern Geometry is all about taking risks print-wise with a nod to the 1960’s fashionistas of the Mod trend. If you are going to wear geometric prints, do it in a bold way with exaggerated stripes and crisp black & whites.
All-White
There is just something so classic about dressing in monotone and for spring 2013 - it is all about white. I loved this look that Lisa Tant put together with some elegant menswear inspired pieces.
Show Some Skin
Spring should always mean showing a bit more skin. Not only is our body craving to be uncovered from the layers and layers of clothing but it just feels good to show off that body you’ve been working out all winter in some sneak-a-peek wardrobe pieces.
Basics
These colour-blocked peplum and pencil skirt separates from Holt Renfrew’s house line are the perfect purchase for your spring wardobe. At just $75 each they are completely affordable and you can shop for your favourite colours. $150 for the entire look will keep you looking fresh and trendy for spring but with enough cash in your wallet to hit up several patios!
