If you happen to be downtown on May 4th, you may notice a large number of princesses cruising around the city! The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra will present their first annual Father & Daughter Princess Ball at the Fairmont Palliser.
Girls ages three and up will enjoy an evening of dress up with a sit-down dinner, a dance, a silent auction featuring great items for children, plus face painting, a photo booth, craft booth and a bling boutique. Participants are encouraged to dress in their finest, and tiaras are most definitely encouraged.
How often can you support the arts and treat your daughter like a princess at the same time? I love this idea and kind of wish I could attend. Wonder what the age cap on this is event? Hmmm.
Instead, maybe I’ll just swing by the Oak Room for a cocktail and watch all the little cuties dressed to the nines as they make their way through the lobby to the Crystal Ballroom for a night they’ll never forget with the proudest escort they’ll ever have.
If you were unable to snag some tickets for this fundraiser before they sold out, you can support the CPO in many other ways. Help them “#GrowTheCPO” on Twitter for a chance to win free tickets to “Verdi’s Requiem” by following @calgaryphil & tweeting #GrowTheCPO by May 1st. Other ways to support, including options like volunteering and “Adopt an Artist“, can be found on their website.
