Canada Day in Downtown Calgary
Tuesday, July 1st - There are a number of great events happening on Canada Day being presented by Downtown Calgary.
The Canadian Artists for the Poor will be on Stephen Avenue from 10am to 5pm exhibiting Canadian art. The artists will join our regular selection of Stephen Avenue vendors including food, arts/crafts, sunglasses, fresh fruit and more.
The #IAMDOWNTOWN Stephen Avenue Summer Stage will be hosting live music from 11am to 5:30pm on the 300 west block of Stephen Avenue, near the corner of 8th avenue and 3rd street SW. The stage will be situated by the famous ‘Trees’ sculptures that live between the CORE shopping centre and Banker’s Hall.
Located at Olympic Plaza is the Downtown Calgary Family Experience featuring the Biggest Birthday Party Ever. Between 10am and 4pm you are invited to join us at Olympic Plaza for a range of FREE activities and events. From toddlers to teens, there is an event for everyone! Even adults can join in on the fun, or just relax in the shade or on one of our #IAMDOWNTOWN picnic blankets.
Is your birthday on July 1st? Bring some proof down to Olympic Plaza and you’ll be granted access to the BIP tent (birthday important person) which gives you exclusive access to a free prize raffle, candy buffet, and a free birthday t-shirt to commemorate the day. Stop by at 12:30pm where we’ll cut the cake and sing happy birthday to everyone who shares their birthday with our fair nation.
