After last year’s Schmancy event, Glenbow’s yearly fundraiser, I was thrilled to be invited back to capture the fashionable and stylish Calgarians in attendance. This was the fourth installment of what Maclean’s Magazine has dubbed the party of the year, but only my personal second attendance, and I knew I was in for a treat yet again.
I found some amazing outfits making appearances in the large crowd, including one of my favourite style statements - the top hat. And there wasn’t just one, but a few! In other menswear news, there were great suits and tuxes, fun colours and plenty of bow ties.
The dresses and gowns showed off well too, with fun colours and cuts, and of course some skirt and blouse combinations to complete the array of personal looks.
As someone who is definitely on the theatrical side of fashion, I loved all the wonderful performers and characters Glenbow had in attendance this year, which included intricate costumes, crazy wigs and amazing makeup styling. Now that’s what I call a stylish event!
