Art of the Cocktail returns to Calgary May 2-3, 2015 to celebrate all that is great about cocktails, from sipping and tasting to trends and tips!

The Grand Tasting offers a great opportunity to taste and sample drinks, alongside a variety of tasty appies from restaurants across Alberta. Sip and sample as your palate craves. Whether it’s the latest gin, the next big bitters or an award-winning dish, it’s not your typical Saturday night. Join us for the cocktail event of the season at the University of Calgary Downtown Campus.

For those who are looking for a more exclusive experience, the VIP Grand Tasting is an hour-long early access admittance, without crowds or tokens!

If you’re more interested in the tips of the trade, there are four seminars available throughout the day on May 3rd, as well as the Canadian Finals of the Sidecar by Merlet Competition. Watch bartenders compete with their take on the classic Sidecar cocktail to represent Canada in the North American finals. The skill, speed and precision is all judged by the panel of expert judges, including Chad Solomon (Midnight Rambler in Dallas and Cuffs & Buttons), last year’s winner Jimmy Nguyen (bartender at Teatro Ristorante) and Luc Merlet, Head of Sales and Marketing at Distillerie Merlet et Fils.

So whether cocktails are your drink of choice or you’re merely trying them out, don’t miss this opportunity to imbibe at the cocktail event of the season.
