Starts April 24th, 2015 - Ziriguidum is a Brazilian Portuguese word with a strong African tone that expresses the sounds of drums and other percussion instruments used in Samba and Carnival music. DJD welcomes Cia.Vata, a celebrated dance and music company from Brazil, to share the stage for a highly theatrical evening of live music and dance. The production will feature Cia.Vata and DJD, each performing half the show, with one piece combining the two companies. Don’t miss this bold and exciting international collaboration.

April 22nd, 2015 - Green Calgary is bringing its annual Earth Day Event to downtown Calgary; hosting its AGM followed by a screening of the award winning documentary “Revolution” at the John Dutton Theatre (Central Library) Wednesday April 22nd.
The event will start at 5:30pm with a reception where participants will be treated to refreshments, support local sustainability through a raffle and other surprises, followed by a screening of the award winning documentary “Revolution”.
Until May 9th - The New Gallery is pleased to present Rip Rap, a solo exhibition of new works by Krista Belle Stewart. The artwork exhibited draws on images from the 1960’s publications, Native Funk and Flash and Indian Artists at Work as well as research from Stewart’s recent residency with the Nisga’a Museum. The exhibition as a whole undermines the linear and deliberate meaning-making imposed by the institutions who assemble archives and shape history.
