In celebration of spring skiing, Sunshine Village is delivering three tonnes of “Canada’s Best Snow” to downtown Calgary along with freestyle skiers and riders to feature its Downtown Throwdown rail jam in the heart of Calgary this Thursday, April 30th 2015 at noon.
Sunshine will be joined by partner Rockstar Energy in front of Flames Central on the 200 block of Stephen Avenue Mall, where they will help highlight upcoming on-mountain spring events taking place throughout the resort.
Sunshine Village, which boasts the longest non-glacial ski season in Canada, will remain “Wide Open” until Victoria Day on Monday, May 18. Nearly 18 feet of snow has fallen on the resort this season and with a current settled base of 165 cm (5 ft 5 in), spring skiing is looking good.
In addition to celebrating spring skiing conditions, Sunshine will also feature an abundance of outdoor patio concepts including Canada’s first champagne snow bar, slopestyle competitions and annual fundraisers all happening this spring. The season will end with a bang on May 18 with the 87th annual Slush Cup.
