The ATB Stephen Avenue branch is moving into the historic Hudson’s Block building on Centre Street. The best part? There will be a new art gallery, ArtVault, inside the branch for downtown Calgary to enjoy—and it’ll be curated by Alberta College of Art and Design (ACAD). The first exhibit showing June – September is Shift featuring Carli Castle (BFA Glass 2013), Kaleb Romano (BFA Ceramics 2016), Amanda Bongiovanni-Duclos (BFA Jewellery + Metals 2016), Sinead Ludwig-Burgess (BFA Sculpture 2016).
ATB is also hosting an opening event on June 28 to allow Calgarians to unleash their creative side and celebrate how it’s transforming banking. A local artist will be inviting Calgarians to color on a giant canvas that will be set up on the street in front of the new branch (if it rains, the canvas will be inside, instead).
While you’re enjoying the activities, take in the art inside ATB’s new modern branch, and have a look at the branch itself. It was designed to be a transformational space that includes open meeting spaces and a warm décor meant to invite Calgarians to hang around and work, chat, or just relax.
The building, Hudson’s Block, is also worth a look—it’s one of Calgary’s oldest and most historic buildings.
Date: June 28
Time: 11am – 2pm
Place: 102 8 Avenue SW
