Pop-up street pianos - July 19 & 21, 2016

Pop-Up Piano Series features free performances on Tuesdays and Thursdays in July!

Tuesday, July 19th, Meagen Kelln will be performing from 12-1PM on the Wee Little Piano Book Exchange (Fifth Avenue Place 420 2 St SW). Formally trained at Mount Royal University, Meagan Kelln fuses folk music with classical piano in a way that makes songs sound timeless.

Thursday, July 21st, Debra Power performs from 12-1PM on the Woodlands Piano (332 6 Ave SW). Pianist, singer and songwriter Debra Power is known for her powerhouse vocals and sparkling keyboard skills, having built a long list of performance/recording credits across Canada and in the U.S. Pop-up picnic - July 20, 2022

Join us in 2016 for weekly pop-up picnics! That’s right, we will be bringing twice the amount of picnics to Downtown Calgary.

This picnics theme will be Princess Party with appearances from Cinder Princess and Beauty Princess! Enjoy this fairy tale wonderland while listening to enchanting music. The Calgary Bike Ambassadors will be present to answer any questions you may have about bike infrastructure.

Blue on the Avenue - July 21, 2022

Join host and curator Mike Watson for an exploration of local blues music on the Stephen Avenue Summer stage, located on 8th avenue SE, just east of Centre Street from 4:30 to 6:00 PM.

There’s no cost to attend, just stop by and enjoy!

This week features blues singer Bill Dowey. He’s got the voice, the feel, the experience, the life. Bill Dowey has got the blues. A powerful and heartfelt voice, a searing slide guitar tone, and a tour bus full of experience makes Bill Dowey one of the most convincing and dedicated blues artists in Canada.

Stephen Avenue Summer Stage - July 18-23, 2016

The Stephen Avenue Summer Stage is here for summer 2016. Stop by on your lunch hour through the summer to enjoy free live entertainment. Acts include rock bands, pop acts, dance troupes and belly dancers, just to name a few!

This week performance will run 12-1PM, Monday through Saturday. The Stephen Avenue Summer Stage will also be an all day hot-spot for a number of community and cultural events happening this summer.
