PORTRAITS IN MOTION AT THEATRE JUNCTION GRAND - January 18th - 21st, 2017
Portraits in Motion is presented by Theatre Junction and One Yellow Rabbit Performance Theatre as part of the 31st annual High Performance Rodeo
Volker Gerling is a passionate creator of flip books and a fearless traveller. Since 2003 he has walked over 3,500km throughout Germany, inviting people to visit his travelling Flipbook “thumb cinema” exhibition, and creating flipbook portraits of some of the people he meets along the way.
In Portraits In Motion, Gerling shows the audience a selection of his favourite flipbook portraits by holding each one under a video camera, projecting the moving images on to a large screen as he flips through their pages. The images come to life as he shares the heart-warming and moving stories behind each encounter.
