GLOW DOWNTOWN WINTER LIGHT FESTIVAL - February 17th - 20th, 2017
Join us this Family Day weekend for Calgary’s newest festival! Starting Friday, February 17th the night comes alive in Calgary with GLOW: a family-friendly light festival in the heart of downtown. This free, all-ages event welcomes everyone to warm up winter’s darkest days and kick off Canada’s 150th birthday celebration year. The festival runs from 6:30pm-11pm every night.
The festival will host 12 different light art installations that will be set up around the downtown core. These installations are designed by local, national, and international artists. More information can be found on the GLOW website.
FAMILY FUN DAY AT EAU CLAIRE - February 20th, 2017

MOBILE ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND - February 18th, 2017
Come see the City of Calgary’s first winter edition of the Mobile Adventure Playground at Olympic Plaza on February 18th from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Mobile playgrounds are dynamic spaces where children can explore, create, imagine and learn in their own way. They contain a variety of materials and loose parts such as boards, tires, tape and cardboard that children are free to use to build, demolish, assemble and change their environments as they desire.
WHISKY WISEMEN - February 16, 2022
Warm up with your favourite Old Fashioneds, made from the ice bar station on the patio of ONE18 Empire to celebrate winter and the Whiskey Wisemen YYC, Canadian style!
Enjoy live music, whiskey samplings and more while raising money for a great cause! 10% of sales will go towards Brown Bagging for Calgary Kids, a great charity feeding children across the city.
SCIENCE IN THE CINEMA: SEVEN POUNDS
Free screening of ‘Seven Pounds’, hosted by the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine and the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta. Science in the Cinema (SITC) - Calgary brings together science and popular culture in a fun and engaging way.
Watch a film with a health science theme and listen to an expert explain the science. An interactive Question and Answer period follows each movie.
Admission is FREE and all attendees will receive a voucher for a free small popcorn!
