POW! PARADE OF WONDERS | April 28, 2022
The 5th Annual POW! Parade of Wonders is a cosplay parade celebrating pop culture and creativity in Calgary’s downtown and takes place during the world-renowned Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo (April 27-30, 2017 at Stampede Park). The parade is free to participate but there is a catch: to walk in the parade you must be decked out in cosplay (costume-play). Expo goers and downtown office workers alike get involved and join in on the fun and witness this unique event.
The 2017 POW! Parade of Wonders will take place on April 28, 2022 between 10:30 AM and 11:45 AM, ending at Olympic Plaza. This year we’ll have a new route and new surprises in store! Spectators can expect an awesome show from the bleachers on sidelines of Stephen Avenue. Participants also have a great time:
Cosplayers meet at starting point at 8th Avenue between 8th Street and 9th Street and will be placed into order or grouped by cosplay style. The walking route in total usually takes about 30 minutes and complete with music and welcoming crowds. It is expected that the walk will conclude at around 11:30 AM and lead into the formal kick-off of the Calgary Expo at the Olympic Plaza.
