Family Dance Party
City Hall, Municipal Building Atrium - 800 MacLeod Trail SW
The Municipal Building Atrium will become party central with music, entertainment, and a glow-in-the-dark resolution wall. Dress in neon or white and anything that glows, and kick off the evening with a boogie on our bigger-than-ever dance floor. Samba dancers will lead everyone in a conga line to get the party started and the fun will finish with the kid’s countdown at 9 p.m.
New Year’s Eve outdoor celebration and fireworks
Olympic Plaza - 228 8 Avenue SE
Say “so long” to 2017 and kick off 2018 with a free, family-friendly celebration. There is something for everyone with a variety of fun activities including ice carving, dancing, skating, fire spinners, fire pit, Photo Booth, cosplayers outdoor chess, free hot chocolate from Good Earth (to the first 2000 people), a whimsical night parade, and live music!
This epic party will tie up at midnight with a countdown to the new year featuring fireworks, a ball drop, and a salute to the city from the top of the Calgary Tower.

Intimate dinner party
New Year’s Eve is always a wonderful experience at a restaurant. It’s festive, intimate and romantic with the sparkle of lights, crisp air outside and warmth and enticing smells from the kitchen.
The River Cafe - 25 Prince’s Island
Leave the city behind, walk across the bridge and anticipate a sumptuous evening that awaits you at River Café. Spend your New Years in the beautiful Princes Island Park, with a carefully curated local Canadian menu and renowned wine pairings. Come for a sunset dinner at between 4:30 and 5:30pm, or have a late meal out between 9 and 10pm so you can sit and enjoy the fireworks with food and a complimentary glass of champagne.

The Rimrock, Fairmont Palliser - 133 9 Avenue SW
For New Years Eve the hotel’s 1920’s inspired Rimrock Dining room is offering a 5 course dinner option complete with a glass of champagne to ring in the new year. Two seating times are available at 6pm or 9pm. Ticket prices are $99 (adults), $79 (seniors), $49 (kids 6-12), and free for children under 5.
If you’re looking for something simpler, the Palliser’s Oak Room Lounge will also be open and serving food, festive cocktails, and live music.

The Guild - 200 8 Ave SW
Celebrate the start of a new year with good food, good drinks and in good company. Dig in to Chef Ryan’s delicious prix fixe ($65) featuring dishes like Bison Tartare, Beretta Farms Strip Loin, and Black Forest Cake. In addition to our prix fixe, we will be offering a shortened à la carte dinner menu from 5pm onward.

The newest addition to Stephen Ave, this restaurant is presenting a NYE 18 dinner menu to celebrate the closing of 2017. With a DJ playing all night, this event will also provide high end champagne, and a diverse selection of fantastic hors d’oeuvres. Ticket prices are $65.
